Send Saved Game

From AGEWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

Often, developers need a saved game sent to help understand and/or fix a problem.

If the game is PBEM, then the hosting player must submit the saves.

To do this (instructions for Windows Vista):

  • Open Windows Explorer by clicking on "Start - Computer"
  • Navigate to the installation directory for your game
The default sub-directory will likely be found under C:\Program Files
  • Find the \Saves folder
It will be under (inside) the game "acronym" folder:
(ACW, NCP, BoA, WIA, RoP, RUS, PON etc)
  • In the \Saves folder, you will see a folder for each game you have started (but not subsequently deleted)
  • Select the Saved game folder for the game you need to send
  • You will see several files, and some number of \Backup# folders
  • <Control><left click> on the *.hst, *.ord, *.trn files, and the \Backup1 and \Backup2 folders
  • <right click> on the selection, and choose "Send to" - "Compressed Zip Folder"
If you have installed WinRar or WinZip, you can <right click> "Add to archive"
  • An Archive (zip or rar) file will be created.
  • Go to forum, reply to your own problem report posting, and attach the file using the "Manage Attachments" function (go to 'advanced' reply mode, scroll down from the reply text window). If attachment is too big for forum, try uploading with a site such as Mediafire.com. or others.

There may be slightly different commands or terms used in other Windows versions. We will update this Wiki entry as needed.
